Thanks to Callie for taking pictures
started a little cloudy
Then it turned sunny!
Stan and Callie’s first Corvette was a 72 Steel Cities Gray like this one.
Thanks to Bud for getting us there early so we could park within walking distance of the store. He reported:
“For those who attended the subject event and thought this year was crowded compared to past years; ZIP just reported that they had 280 corvettes and 400 enthusiasts.”
Thanks for the offers to help tote stuff I bought. The seat skins arrived this week and they would NOT have fit in my Vette.
Thanks Ray for the pictures and Ronnie and Carolyn for the planning.
Thanks Gill, the only picture with the web master in it.
And good times were had by all!
At the Kennon house we started with a social time and libitations.
And then there was food and desert
And then fun begins with the presents
Some presents only stayed with you long enough to be photographed! Again
But in the end good times were had by all
And for all a good night!
Start with a beautiful day
End with lunch at The Point on Lake Gaston
Fellow RVCC Club Members,
Sorry that I missed the Club meeting last Thursday but I had all good intentions of being there. I was running a little late so I decided to for go meeting everyone at Bracey and was headed straight to the Lamp Lighter. Just after crossing the NC/VA line the car started to shake like it was a flat tire. I check the air pressure and all the tires were normal. I then checked all the gauges and the too were all normal. Then the car started to lose power, cough, sputter and make a lot of strange noises and rattles which caused the check engine light to flash like a strobe light on top of a school bus. I immediately pulled into a wide spot off the road and shut the engine down. Hence I called a tow truck and had it taken to White Chevrolet Hospital. They were booked solid on Friday and were not able to get to it until today. The computer codes showed several miss-fires but the noise was coming from the inside of the engine. They pulled the valve covers and low and behold found the culprit, a broken valve spring. (See picture) The corvette mechanic (Dennis) was able to replace the valve spring and had the car ready for me to pick/up at 3:00 PM.
Many thanks to our Club Sponsor White Motors for their knowledge and ability to get me on the road again without having to rob a bank or take out a second mortgage to get the car back .
Sooooooooo, I am back in the water and looking forward to our next adventure of making the Run to the Colors.
Be well and see you soon,
